My story

Meet Rosebud Rosebud recently came to HAP from Alabama when her previous shelter no longer had room for her. Rosebud is the best one year old shepherd mix girl around! She's quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite with her loving, playful personality and the fact that she's usually always giving you the biggest smile! Rosebud is also a water girl through and through and she loves to play in the pool! She would absolutely love a home where she could swim until her hearts content or at the very least a chance to get her swim on every now and then. She's also made lots of doggy friends of all shapes and sizes. She's met a few children and while can get a little excited and jump, she listens to redirections well and settles quickly. Rosebud is also a sucker for a good toy and she hasn't found one she hasn't liked yet. Overall, Rosebud is a super friendly, curious, and playful girl that will always be up for life's adventures alongside you with a smile on her face. Rosebud recently went on a Doggy Day Out and here's what the volunteer had to say: "We got to take Rosebud & Bentley out for a day on the water by boat! Rosebud was a little hesitant at first, but quickly relaxed and enjoyed the breeze of the wind-she even went for a swim! Rosebud is a lover girl and wanted to stay close to all the humans for special lovin'. Last stop before coming back to the dock was a quick bite to eat at Paradise Pub where Rosebud & Bentley each enjoyed a corndog along with a pup cup. Both dogs were excellent at the restaurant and exceeded all expectations." - Kelly If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
