My story

Anaka is a beautiful 2-year-old Labrador mix who was found as a stray on 6/12/25. Young, smart, and full of potential, she’s ready to find a patient, active adopter to help her settle into her forever home.* Personality & Temperament-Needs time to build trust—warms up at a slow to moderate pace.-Energetic and intelligent—loves activities that keep her mind and body busy.-Slightly nervous in new situations but always willing to try.* Compatibility-Kids: Best with children over 10 who can respect her space.-Dog interactions are recommended. Has not been dog tested due to needing a spay. -Cats: Unknown at this time.* Enrichment & Training Needs-Thrives with daily exercise, walks, and structured playtime.-Positive reinforcement training recommended to help her gain confidence.-Nosework and puzzle toys would be great for both mental and physical stimulation.-Fit for an Easy Walk Harness to help with leash skills. *Ideal Home-Fenced yard (privacy fence preferred) where she can safely explore and decompress-Patient adopter willing to go at her pace-A calm, predictable routine to help her feel secure  * Behavior Assessment Highlights- Cage Presentation: Calm and appropriate (Grade A)-Sociability Test: Reserved but appropriate—1 point total-Toy Test: Nervous pacing but no guarding behaviors- Food Test: Fast eater, one shoulder block but no aggression—Grade A Anaka is a bright, loyal young dog who just needs a little time and understanding to blossom. With the right guidance, she’ll make an amazing companion for someone ready to meet her where she is and help her grow. Ready to give Anaka the loving home she deserves?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt ANAKA, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
