Bruce was cared for as part of colony of community cats (homeless but cared for outside). Some in the colony were feral, but the caretaker noticed two things about Bruce. First, he was very friendly with humans. Second, he had a large wound on his neck that wouldn't heal. After some time on antibiotics, Bruce healed beautifully. Unfortunately, he contracted FIV (similar to HIV in humans) while trying to survive outside, but so many cats live totally normal lives with FIV. Bruce loves it inside now! He's an intelligent cat who enjoys interacting with people, but wishes he had an entire house to spread out in. Be sure to check out our Facebook page for daily updates!! All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated. All cats are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. All of our resident cats use their litter boxes unless otherwise indicated. Cats are naturally inclined to use a litter box. Cat Fact: If a domestic cat is not using a litter box THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG! It should never be ignored! Your cat is depending on you for help. Our adoption fee for felines is $100. That covers the cost of spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV test, deworming, flea prevention (if applicable) and vaccinations (if applicable). We look forward to meeting you! Please email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com with any additional question ** NOTE: Be sure to check out our Facebook page at Wyandotte Animal Shelter (https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/) for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. :)
