My story

Meet Ruby Rose. This kitty is a gem, just as her name suggests. If you're looking for a cuddly lap cat with a fearless spirit, she's your girl. She loves "tummy time" where she gets a good belly rub, something most cats do not like! But stay away from those tootsies! She is not a fan of being picked up, preferring to have her feet firmly planted on the floor. Ruby Rose lived in an adult household and may be nervous with children. This kitty is playful and loves a variety of toys, especially crackly ones. She was delighted when stores went green and switched to crackly paper bags. She got along well with her sisters Diamond Girl and Onyx. Ruby Rose and Onyx are the more outgoing kitty while Diamond Girl is shy, so they complement each other. If you're interested in adopting multiple kitties you can enjoy the special personalities that each one brings to the table. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
