My story

Lars My name has Scandinavian roots, meaning crowned with laurel. But I don`t recall ever being crowned with anything. I arrived at the HSHC as a stray cat along with five other cats. We were taken from the same house, and it was a good thing. We were all in poor shape; my snowy white long coat was very matted. None of us had been properly socialized and tended to be hesitant at best, and reactive at worst. The interviewer lady (IL) told me I was an exceedingly handsome fellow as she opened the door to my apartment. I was sitting in my favorite spot, on top of my Kitty Kasa, and I backed up a little. She offered her finger for me to sniff, which I did, but when she tried to scratch my chin, I moved to the very back of my room. I`m afraid I`m a timid guy. I am 4-years-old and rather skinny, weighing 6.5 pounds. When the IL set my bowl of wet food on the Kasa, I scarfed it down and let her pet me. I always need a little time to get used to a new person. On July 8, I must have felt a bit braver during my showing with an adopter. I rolled around on the floor to ask for pets, purred, and was charming. I know that I have the potential to be a lovable member of a family. The HSHC staff can provide you with helpful information on introducing me to your home. Please help me take care of my coat. Mats hurt! 7-16-25

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lars, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
