My story

As close to perfect as a dog can get! Hi there, friends! My name is Raja, and I’m a 1.5-year-old Shar Pei/Lab mix, weighing about 45 pounds. I’ve come all the way from Guam, where I was found on the side of the road with my sweet puppy. My little one was adopted by a loving family on the island, but I had to stay behind for a bit since I tested positive for heartworm. Luckily, I got the treatment I needed and made a full recovery! After that, a wonderful organization brought me to the U.S., and now I’m ready for my forever home. I haven’t been spayed yet, but I’m in great health. I’m a friendly, playful, loyal, and affectionate girl who’s always up for snuggles or adventures – whatever you’re in the mood for! I love beach walks, playing with doggie friends, and cuddling up with my humans. Some of my other favorite things? Sunbathing, romping around in the grass, and chewing the tags off stuffed animals. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kiddos, too! When it comes to training, I’ve got the basics covered: I’m fully potty-trained and crate trained, and I walk really well on a leash (though I do tend to get a little too excited, at times).  I’m a quick learner, a great listener, and I do best with positive reinforcement. I already know how to “sit,” “stay,” “lay down,” and “leave it.” I do have a bit of mild separation anxiety when left alone, but I settle down quickly once I’ve had a moment to regroup. I think I’d thrive in a medium-energy household – especially one with lots of love and cuddles to go around. Having a doggie or kitty sibling would be the cherry on top!
