My story

Moose - Male DOB 4/26/2023 Domestic Short Hair - Brown Tabby Moose is one of those cats who just gets you. He loves to climb into your lap, look up at you with his soulful eyes, and let out a big purr. He also will reach up to you and want you to pick him up and hold him for a little while.  He came to us after life threw him a curveball; his previous person couldn’t care for him anymore and left him outside. Moose was scared, thin, and having a rough time keeping his food down. But even then, he never stopped soaking up love from our volunteers. Once we figured out he has Inflammatory Bowel Disease, basically a sensitive stomach that reacts to certain proteins, we switched him to a special diet, added some meds and probiotics, and little by little, Moose started to thrive. These days, he’s looking healthier and stronger, enjoying his twice-daily wet food with his prescription kibble, and acting like the happy, loving cat he was meant to be.  Moose will likely need to stay on probiotics and his low daily dose of prednisolone, but it would be so worth the love and admiration you get in return from him. Moose has recently had a dental where most of his lower teeth had to be removed.  He should feel much better now without that pain he had going on in his mouth.  He is still doing great eating his wet and dry food.  Moose would be happiest as your only cat, where he can keep soaking up all the one-on-one love he truly adores. He probably would be fine with older kids who know how to be gentle and kind. He may also do fine with a cat-friendly dog with proper introductions. If you’re searching for a devoted friend, Moose would love to be your whole world.
