My story

Please read description thoroughlyMarley is a gentle 3-year-old, 55&#226&#128&#145lb Irish Doodle who’s looking for a calm and loving forever home. Though she was adopted as a puppy, she’s always carried a shy nature—she startles easily (sometimes even by her own shadow) and needs kindness and patience to feel safe. In her previous home, there was a child with special needs whose behavior was a bit unpredictable, and while Marley never showed aggression, her sensitivity means she’d be best suited to an adult-only household. Marley thrives with a consistent routine, especially long, peaceful walks—she’s great on a leash and finds real comfort in time spent exploring outdoors. A secure, fenced yard would be ideal, offering her the freedom to wander safely and boost her confidence naturally. It’s also clear she does well with other dogs; a calm, well-socialized canine friend could help her gently learn that the world is not a scary place. Though she hasn’t taken to playing fetch just yet, Marley shows so much promise—she’s affectionate, eager to trust, and responsive to gentle encouragement. She’s on the lean side, and startled easily if you reach out too quickly, so she’ll need someone who’s mindful of her sensitivity and willing to build trust slowly. Marley is fully spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. For the right, committed adopter, her adoption fee is $450, and applications can be submitted at www.misfitsdogrescue.org. With a stable adult-only home, a fenced yard, slow, trust-building reinforcement, and companionship, Marley is poised to blossom into a devoted, joyful companion. July 7, 2025, 6:41 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
