My story

Bandito is a tiny, gentle soul with a big heart who’s looking for a soft place to land. This sweet 9-year-old senior Chihuahua has been through so much in such a short time — after losing his beloved owner, he was surrendered to the shelter, and not long after, his Chihuahua best friend from the same home passed away, too. Despite it all, Bandito still has so much love to give. He’s shy and a bit nervous at first, but with patience and kindness, he warms up and shows you just how sweet he can be. Once he trusts you, he’s an absolute dreamboat — calm, gentle, and grateful for every bit of affection. He loves napping on a warm lap and would happily let you carry him around in a sling like he was at the shelter! Bandito is working on his potty training in his new foster home — he’s had a couple of accidents, but with routine potty breaks and gentle encouragement, he’s learning fast. At night, he sleeps quietly in his kennel when asked and settles in like a pro. Bandito hasn’t had a full introduction to other dogs yet, but so far he seems comfortable and easygoing with them. As for cats, he’s been curious when he’s seen them from his foster’s lap, but his foster thinks he might try to chase if given the chance — so for now, we’ll say he’s cat-uncertain. Bandito hasn’t been around kids in his foster home yet, but he’s so chill and gentle that he’d likely do just fine — plus, since he’s had all his teeth removed, any playful nips would just be harmless little gumming! This special senior boy deserves a peaceful, loving home where he can feel safe, cozy, and cherished again. Until then, he’s looking for someone to shower him with gentle love and remind him that brighter days are ahead.
