My story

Quiet, Resilient, Affectionate Skittle is a thoughtful cat with an old-soul energy. It may take her a little while to feel at ease, but once she does, she’ll lean into your hand with a soft trill and gently nudge you for head scritches. She’ll blink slowly from across the room, watching you carefully—and then hop up on the couch to sit nearby, content just to share your space. Lately, she’s started batting at toys with cautious curiosity, as if rediscovering what fun feels like. When she first came to APA!, Skittle was caring for her kittens while recovering from a serious leg injury—so serious it looked like she might lose the limb. But with time, rest, and a calm environment, she’s made an incredible recovery. Her leg is now about 95% healed, and she does all the normal cat things: jumping, climbing, and seeking out the coziest nap spots. Sudden movements or loud sounds can still make her nervous, so she’s looking for a peaceful home with someone who will give her the time and space she needs to bloom. With patience and love, we believe Skittle will blossom into a loyal companion—and maybe even a lap cat.
