Frankie here is a star in our gentleman in training category! Checking off good boy boxes one after another ✔️ House-trained ✔️ Crate-trained ✔️ Great in the car ✔️ Gentle with people ✔️ Dog- and cat-friendly ✔️ Amazing leash skills (seriously, for a puppy?!) Do I even need to keep going? Well I will anyway! Frankie is fostered in a loving home with a foster who is dedicated to making sure any dog he hosts is learning exactly how to be a top-tier house pup, hence the gentleman-in-training category. Estimated to be about 6-9 months old, we were immediately impressed when we met Frankie. He’s respectful, cuddly, playful, and just the right amount of goofy. At heart, he is a lover boy with the sweetest approach to showing his love—always checking in with people, giving kisses, and happy to flop over for a belly rub or a nail trim, when its time for that. He currently weighs 40 lbs and is growing. We believe he may be a pittie/ boxer mix but of course, in rescue breed and birthday are details we cannot guarantee. Fully grown he will likely settle in around 50 lbs. Frankie lives with other dogs in his foster home and is a great playmate to his two medium size, medium energy-level foster siblings. We spent time with him outside of his foster home in order to get a feel for his play style and the type of dog he enjoys best and he showed us the same thing his foster saw when he arrived at this home. When meeting new dogs, Frankie nails it, he is confident, calm, and can read other dogs well. His first introduction was with a high-energy female on leash who was quick to start bouncing around him. Next was a male who he met off leash and the incoming dog was so excited he basically charged up to Frankie eager to play and he handled it with grace. He was happy to jump into the fun when the dogs got to running and playing but also knew when to remove himself when things got too chaotic. He would love a home with a medium-energy dog friend who can match his pace as he grows. Even with our wild house cat- again, he nailed it. He was curious and polite, will almost positively try to play with a cat if possible, but he never once tried to chase and didnt get overexcited when the cat was going wild over he is cat toy. Even when the cat ran laps and jumps over him, Frankie was so unbothered and even layed down to watch the show. Frankie may be green to some things, but he has the best disposition and is brave and trusting. We were all impressed by how quickly he settled indoors and loved hanging out. He loves treats and has a gentle mouth when taking them from your hand. Plus, he might not be small enough for much longer but he doesn’t even mind being picked up. Sweet baby! Frankie would do best in a home with a yard to stretch his growing legs and a dog friend who enjoys play but won’t overwhelm him and knows how to relax. He is build for companionship would love a life full of friends, fun, and love. He is still growing and learning, and is primed with amazing qualities that we think show a family man in the making. He does not live with kids in his foster home but has met kids in passing and has shown nothing but a gentle, loving approach. Frankie has all the foundations and all the heart—next in his journey to best boy life is that special someone of his very own. He is going to be one amazing dog! Will you be the one who gets to call him yours? Don’t wait, these gentle boys do not last long, if you can see how amazing he is someone else sees it too! Questions? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
