My story

DOB: March 7, 2016 Lori is a gentle, quirky beauty who’s recently retired from motherhood and is now rediscovering life on her own terms. With her soft black coat, snowy white paws, and a unique upside-down heart marking on her muzzle, Lori is a true original. Her deep, gravelly meow—reminiscent of Marge Simpson—is just one of her many endearing qualities. Independent by nature, Lori enjoys solo play and is often seen batting around toy balls. On rare but delightful occasions, she’ll strut through the room with a toy in her mouth, announcing her “catch” with a proud meow. While she’s still a bit shy about interactive play, she’s likely to become more playful once she’s built trust in her new forever home. Lori keeps her litter box pristine and takes pride in her personal space. She recently underwent multiple tooth extractions and is recovering well, though her string of vet visits has left her understandably wary. As a result, she may be slow to trust and prefers calm, predictable routines that she can easily adjust to. If startled, Lori may hiss or quietly slink away—but she is never aggressive. She might gently push your hand aside when she’s had enough attention, but when she chooses to accept chin scratches, it’s always a quiet and dignified moment. She thrives in cozy hiding spots where she can observe the world from a safe distance. Lori is best suited to a calm, patient household that respects her space and allows her to come out of her shell at her own pace. She could do well with another friendly, mature cat or with a person who is home most of the day and willing to offer quiet companionship. With time, Lori’s subtle but sincere affection will blossom—and you’ll be lucky to witness it. Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $225.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lori, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
