My story

Currently being fostered East Berlin, PA Meet Poppy – The Fluffy Figment of Your Imagination (But She’s Real, We Promise) Is she a puppy? Is she a plush toy? A character from a children’s book? Poppy might be all of the above. With soft, slightly wild brown ears, snuggly fur like a well-loved teddy bear, and feet that absolutely belong in a Dr. Seuss illustration (Grinch’s dog, anyone?), this 4-month-old, 17 lb girl is equal parts adorable and enchanting. Personality Poppy is a gentle soul with a curious heart. She loves playing with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats one bit. When it comes to people and kids, she’s a bit timid at first - and lets the relationship blossom mutually. She just needs a little time and space to get her bearings and decide the world is safe. Once she does, you’ll see flashes of a fun, playful, sweet-as-honey puppy who is ready to bond for life. Energy Level She’s got a moderate energy level - playful and bouncy one minute, snuggled up like a warm cinnamon roll the next. After a good play session, she’s perfectly content to relax and nap the afternoon away. Skills and Training - Sleeps in a crate at night and settles in after a few grumbles (about 15 minutes of dramatic sighing) - Eats and stays in a crate when left alone (but will voice her opinion about it!) - Doing very well with house training - she understands the idea and is getting the hang of it quickly Companionship Poppy would thrive in a home with other friendly dogs who can help show her the ropes. A calm environment with gentle people will help her blossom. She’s still working on her confidence, but once she feels safe, her silly, sparkly personality shines. Love and Affection She’s soft. She’s sweet. She’s shaped like a hug. Poppy loves snuggling, especially when she’s sleepy, and we have no doubt she’ll be someone’s loyal little shadow. She’s got the soul of a storybook sidekick and the heart of a forever friend. Included Veterinary Care: - Visit to veterinarian for health certificate - Up to date on vaccinations for her age - Spayed - Microchipped - Heartworm preventative - Flea and tick preventative - Worm/parasite treatments Poppy is the kind of puppy you’d swear someone imagined on a cozy rainy day - just fluffy and silly and a little magical. But she’s real. And she might just be waiting for you.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Poppy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
