My story

Meet Marley! This beautiful bully girl with the big, infectious smile was spotted running down a road in Charlotte, dragging a chain. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped up to help her, and because of her compassion, Marley is now safe, thriving in foster care, and ready to start a brand-new chapter. Still a young pup, Marley has proven to be incredibly adaptable and naturally social. She’s been fostered with dogs of all sizes and ages - large, small, young, and senior -and she’s been a total rockstar with everyone. Her current foster home includes three other dogs, and the introduction was seamless. Foster mom Sarah shared: “Initially, Marley was slightly timid, but within 30 minutes she warmed up and was trying to play. Her energy level is pretty moderate. She has a playful side but isn’t overbearing.” This sweet girl absolutely adores people. At a recent brewery outing, she charmed everyone she met, including a whole baseball team of 8 to 10-year-olds. She soaked up all the attention and was gentle with every child who came her way. Marley is:  &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 House-trained  &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Crate-trained  &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Doing well on leash (though she gets excited and may pull a bit) She loves water, enjoys hiking, and makes a great golf cart co-pilot. According to her foster mom, “Marley is silly, outgoing, and affectionate, but not ‘in your face.’ She’s very submissive with other dogs and was even intimidated by our neighbor’s Pomeranian! She’s also a huge fan of toys, though she may sneak off with a shoe if left unsupervised (we're working on that!).” Marley is affectionate, fun, and full of heart. She’d thrive with a doggy playmate or as a beloved only pup, as long as she has people to love and share adventures with.  If you think Marley could be your perfect match, apply today to learn more!" *** Available for foster-to-adopt for the right family fit*** BREED ESTIMATE: Staffordshire Terrier Mix GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  54 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 1-2 years old COAT TYPE:  short coat ADOPTION FEE: $425 VET INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION: Charlotte, NC -        FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that primarily adopts to families in the DC Metro area. July 6, 2025, 3:42 pm
