My story

Randall is a 10-year-old, 60-pound gentleman with a soft heart, gentle soul, and quiet presence that brings warmth to every room he enters. He came to BARCS as a senior in need of a second chance and has since proven to be one of the easiest, most affectionate companions you could hope for.Affectionately called “Ran the Man” by his foster family, Randall is the kind of dog who’s happy to simply be near his people. He’ll quietly follow you from room to room, find a soft spot to lie down, and keep you company without ever getting in the way. He’s welcoming with visitors, often greeting them with a tail wag and his favorite toy in his mouth—it’s his special way of saying hello.Even though he’s a senior, Randall still enjoys his daily walks and the occasional burst of playful energy. He knows basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” and he especially enjoys games that use his nose, like “go find it.” Walks around the neighborhood or a short visit to a quiet park are some of his favorite ways to spend time with his humans. In the home, Randall is fully house-trained and crate-trained, though he doesn’t need a crate. He has full freedom in his foster home, day and night, and has never gotten into anything he shouldn’t. He’s respectful, calm, and incredibly easy to live with—no chewing, barking, or demanding behavior. Randall is just happy to be part of the household and be included in the rhythm of daily life. He’s done wonderfully with children, showing patience, gentleness, and an easygoing nature that makes him a great fit for families. Randall is also dog-friendly with mellow, respectful dogs and would do best with a meet-and-greet before living with another pup. He remains calm and polite when encountering other dogs and people on walks, and he doesn’t react to outside noises or distractions.Randall is a well-rounded companion who also does great with car rides, baths, and taking medication. His health is stable for his age, and his overall energy level is perfect for someone seeking a dog who enjoys moderate activity followed by long naps. He’s steady, affectionate, and always seems to know just when to rest his head on your lap.Now in a loving foster home, Randall is ready to find a forever family who will appreciate his calm nature, gentle spirit, and quiet companionship. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will be by your side through all of life’s everyday moments, Randall may be exactly who you’ve been s
