My story

Super cute, super playful and super adorable! That is just scratching the surface. Our bubbly bundle of labrador retriever mix pups is just what the doctor ordered. Come meet the five-month-old siblings and find out what falling in love at first sight is all about. Our boy Bernie has a great personality and loads of sweetness. He weighs around 22 pounds and will grow in the days ahead. Our best guess is that he will be a medium sized dog of under 60 pounds when fully grown.Bernie can be on the shy side when first meeting new people or when in a new environment. However, he warms up with kindness and a gentle approach. When not soaking up the attention from his friends, he can be found playing with other dogs. He especially enjoys time with children and adults. Bernie is blossoming every day and with more exposure to new places and people the experiences will work magic on building a foundation of confidence. He has not had an opportunity to meet a cat since coming into rescue so it is unknown how he would react to a feline companion. He is working on his house, crate and leash training and doing what he can to be a success. It will take patience, commitment and continued training to have Bernie cross the finish line with learning his skill set.Bernie will be the life of the party with all eyes on him and his fun puppy antics and charm. He will be a delight for the family that will raise him into adulthood and beyond. He has his heart set on finding his perfect family and sharing lots of memories throughout the years. Meet Bernie and know what true love is. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Bernie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.July 13, 2025, 7:05 am
