Meet Socrates: The Purr-losopher in Training DOB: 4/13/2025“An unexamined nap is not worth taking.” – Socrates (probably)This wise little tabby may be small in size now, but Socrates has all the makings of a future feline philosopher king. With the calm demeanor of a monk and the softest fur you’ve ever had the honor of petting, Socrates lives by one rule: life is better with a full belly, a cozy nap spot, and a few good toys to ponder the mysteries of play.Socrates is easygoing, gentle, and observant—he prefers peace over chaos, and would thrive in a household that matches his mellow energy. He’s cat and kid-friendly, and currently undergoing diplomatic relations with the canine species (progress is promising!). With hints of Maine Coon or Bengal in his genes, he may grow into a majestic and slightly wild-looking kitty—with adorable ear tufts that make him look like he stepped out of a woodland myth.When he’s not contemplating the nature of string or the sound of a crinkly ball in motion, Socrates can be found snoozing alone or curled up with his fellow philosopher siblings. He’s affectionate, playful, and always ready to engage in quiet cuddles or deep thoughts (preferably on a cat tree).If your household seeks a gentle soul with a playful mind and wise little eyes, Socrates may just be your purrfect match.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
