Clancy

My story

A 3.5 months old, Clancy is already turning heads with his striking white and red coat, adorable speckles, and floppy ears. While we can’t say for certain what his DNA holds, Clancy looks to be a Basset Hound / Australian Cattle Dog mix with a sprinkle of Bulldog or Pit Bull. He is a chonker and ohh such a sweet boy! Clancy is being raised in a lovely foster home with three kids and three adult dogs, so he's learning the ropes of good manners, playtime etiquette, and how to be part of a pack—both human and canine.  We received this wonderful update from Clancy's foster mom: Clancy comes with his very own “hound dog alarm system”—he may bark or let out a howl when startled or when something catches his eye. He is a playful pup who occasionally initiates a spirited game of chase and bark with one or our older dogs who doesn't always appreciate his puppy antics. Thankfully, he responds well to gentle corrections and quickly moves on to the next adventure. If placed in a home with another dog, a calm, well-mannered companion would be ideal to help continue teaching him good boundaries. After a little puppy playtime, he is quick to settle down and is always up for a good snuggle. He gets along wonderfully with children and handle the hustle and bustle of a family environment like a pro. He is teething so lots of chew toys are a must. He is smart and already doing great on house training! He has just one accident in his puppy pen early on, and a couple during supervised free-roam time. He knows what to do when taken outside and is getting better every day. At night, he sleeps peacefully in a crate in our room, and during the day he stays safely in a puppy pen when we’re away.
