My story

Location: St Paul, MN A gentle, soulful sweetheart looking for a family to love. Darnell is a kind and affectionate pup who’s been wonderful with the young children in his foster home — even leaving their toys untouched! He also gets along well with other dogs, even when they’re not the friendliest. If another dog growls at him, Darnell simply walks away — a true pacifist at heart. He’s still learning some basic manners (like not snacking off the kitchen counter — bacon is just too tempting sometimes!), but he is eager to please and very teachable. Darnell is happiest lounging near his people, soaking up the calm. However, he does struggle with separation anxiety when left alone or crated. In these moments, he may become vocal and destructive — not out of bad behavior, but because he’s desperately trying to find you. He has already made some progress in his foster home, and we believe that with patience, routine, and support, he’ll continue to improve. Darnell’s ideal home would be one where he’s not left alone for long periods and can be part of the daily rhythm of life. He doesn’t bark unnecessarily and is quiet when he’s with his people — just a loving companion looking for safety and stability. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
