My story

Rhea is 3 years old, 55 lbs She was excited when I picked her up from the shelter. She has been behaving well from the beginning and adjusting to her new surroundings. Rhea has an old soul and maturity about her. She is finally letting her playful side come out especially with her foster brother. She travels well in the car. She has not had an accident in the house and loves to sleep in the bed next to her person. Sometimes she wants to lay on top or at least her head on your stomach, chest or neck. Sometimes she just wants to be as close as she can get. She will stay in the crate when needed and sometimes she wants to sleep on the couch or floor. She walks well on the leash, but she does want to chase squirrels when she sees one. She is also very interested in cats. I am not sure what she would do if she got close enough to one so be cautious. Rhea is great with other dogs, and she loves people. She wants to meet everyone she can. When a dog or human does not share her feelings, she whimpers. She can’t understand why they don’t want to meet her and pet her. She is good with children but has limited encounters so far. If I am not careful, Rhea could be a foster failure for me. The only negative is she is a picky eater. I am still trying to find her preferred food. She does love her treats and Reddy Whip. Sometimes I think she is not eating her food so she can score a treat. She is very smart. Rhea does the cutest thing when she is in the yard. She will run towards me and then slide on her back and start wiggling for a chest/belly rub. She could do that all day if you have the strength. Rhea deserves to have a family that will cherish and love her and she will do the same for them.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rhea, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
