My story

Pancake is a very gentle girl, who is a great Mama to her three babies. She is a very sweet and quiet girl who is still a bit hesitant about humans due to still being around her babies, but once she`s relaxed and gets to know you, she will venture out. She does enjoy petting and will allow this easily. Pancake seems to have a sweet and calm nature, and it is felt that once she is in a home either alone or maybe with one of her babies, or another nice kitty, she will blossom into the lovely girl we know she can be. Pancake is FIV positive and so are her babies, so a home with one of them would be nice. She can also live fine with another kitty or another adult kitty. For more info on FIV, ask our volunteers or consult your own vet. It`s easily managed, and these kitties live long and healthy lives with proper vet care. Pancake would love to start living her own life, now that her kids are ready to go home! FIV is not contagious to dogs or humans and can only be spread to other cats thru a series of very deep bites, which is not likely with this gentle girl.She would probably do best in a home with older kids or no kids. We don`t know how she feels about dogs.FIV+ cats need love too! FIV is species specific, meaning only cats can be infected. FIV+ cats can live just as long as non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds. Normal social interactions, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes have no known risk of transmission.
