What a wonderful little boy he is! He just wants to be with you and for you to love him. He is a laid back kinda boy. We think he would  be ok with cats but have never cat tested him. He does get along with other dogs  both male and female and enjoys their company. Loves the fenced yard. Sadly because of poor/no dental care he’s going to lose most of his teeth. He has already had the left side done but will need to go back to get the right side done so he’ll not be able to go to his forever home until the middle of August. Dieter does have a heart murmur but no clinical signs. That will give you time enough to prepare for his arrival if approved. Please consider Dieter, you will not be sorry. Our must haves for him are: A fenced in yard Another adult small dog for him to pal around with Someone home more than not Not apartments, high rises or condos Please don’t make Dieter wait for that last furever home.     ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.  We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
