This lovely girl has been with us for a little while now, after being rescued in Attawapiskat. A kind-hearted community member stepped in when they saw her being chased by a pack of dogs, and after locating her owner, they agreed to surrender her so she could make her way south to safety. Just three weeks after arriving, Sara surprised us all by giving birth to a single puppy—on St. Patrick’s Day, no less! Her spay appointment was quickly rescheduled, and she dedicated herself to raising her little one, who has since been adopted. Sara has patiently waited through the recovery period, and now she’s finally ready for her own forever home. Sara is an active, outdoorsy girl who loves to run, play chase with other dogs, and has recently discovered the joy of splashing around in shallow water. She’s incredibly social—she adores playing with other dogs and is just as happy snuggled up on the couch with her people after a good walk or play session. She’s working on her leash manners and is doing great, though she can still get excited by nearby critters or friendly dogs. Squirrels and rabbits are definitely not her favourite, so we don’t recommend a home with cats. A fenced yard would be ideal for Sara, as she prefers to do her business off-leash and enjoys having space to zoom around. She would thrive in a home with another playful, energetic dog and a family who enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. Sara is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be spayed before adoption.
