Daphne is a 13-year old dog, about 20-25 pounds, and is a terrier/cattle dog mixed breed. We call her our “cat” dog, as she had many feline mannerisms. She will curl up to you, paw at you like a cat would want to be petted, roll over on her back to have her tummy rubbed as well as sleeping on her back with all four legs in the air. Our daughter had her DNA tested (can’t find the papers) but she is part African Cattle Dog. Therefore, she likes to run and has high energy but will sleep a good amount of the time in the home. She is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines through August. She does have a little bit of dental issues but is able to eat dry food, but hard treats such as milk bones are difficuly for her to eat. She is 13 years old, so she would need blood work done to determine if she can be put under for dental cleaning. Although she is an older dog, you would not know it by her energy. Daphne loves to run in the yard and chase the ball…she doesn’t always bring it back to you though. She is good with children and people and other dogs. Not sure how she is with cats, as she hasn’t been around them much. She is curious about the cats but would most likely run after them if they run, thinking they want to play. You must keep watch for her if you open the front door because she will run out. Daphne is leash/trained and housebroken. She may do well with a crate, as she did when she was younger, but she hasn’t been crated in quite some time. She loves soft treats and loves chasing the ball in the yard. If you ask her where her ball is, she will search for it. The ideal home for Daphne would be where she has a big yard to run and play with the children or other dogs. We are moving to an apartment that does not allow dogs, and we hope you will give her a home where she can thrive.
