If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   You can call me Sugar because I’m the sweetest! My family had to surrender me because they were moving and couldn’t take me with them. My foster parents saved me from becoming a barn cat, so now I can snuggle you and make biscuits for you instead! I’m very affectionate and sometimes when you pick me up I’ll knead on your shoulder. I love to perch in the cat tree and flop over for pets. Because I lost my home, I’m a little uncertain in new places. I like to have a place that’s just mine to feel secure.  I’m used to a big family, so I’d be happy in a home with kids. I’m very gentle and okay with being held. Other cats are okay as long as we have a gradual introduction. I’m not sure how I feel about dogs. My ideal adopter is someone with lots of love to share.  If you want to make your life a little bit sweeter, submit an application today! Sugar is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations,  spayed , and litter box trained. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved.
