My story

Shyla is a gentle soul ready to bloom. True to her name, Shyla is a tenderhearted 2-year-old, 38 lb, American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a soft spirit and a gentle gaze. She’s shy at first, needing a little time and patience to feel safe, but once she does, she opens up in the most beautiful ways. With kind words, a calm presence, and maybe a canine buddy by her side, Shyla begins to relax and show her affectionate side. She draws confidence from the company of other friendly dogs and would love a home with a calm, social pup to help guide her. Rescued as a stray, Shyla is still putting on some much-needed weight and enjoying three square meals a day (plus a few snacks, of course!). She’s also learning the ropes of life inside a home, including potty training—and she’s trying her best every day.Shyla may need a little extra time to settle in, but the love she has to give is more than worth the wait.
