My story

Meet Howie – Full of Heart, Hoping for HomeHowie is a bright, affectionate boy. He’s playful, attentive, and always ready for a game of fetch or to show off his commands—sit, down, come, and lay down. His eyes light up when he’s with people, and his loyalty runs deep.But Howie’s heart has been through a lot. He struggles with being left alone and can get anxious, especially in the yard—he’s been known to jump fences when feeling stressed or forgotten. Because of this, Howie will thrive with a dog-savvy adopter who understands his need for security, structure, exercise and lots of companionship in a quiet home. He’ll do best as the only pet in the home—no cats, no other dogs—just a devoted human or family who can give him the time, patience, and love he truly deserves.With the right person, Howie will be a devoted best friend who just wants to be close to your side—because for him, love means everything. This shy boy  recently met some social dogs at our shelter and did fine.  He wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as he gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, he’ll be ready to show us his silly side with other dogs.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!
