My story

In the market for a big, bold boy to join you on all your adventures? Look no further than King! While this 88-lb gentle giant may have a royal name, he enjoys the simpler things in life a warm cozy bed, and a place to call his own. Since arriving at the shelter, King has adapted to the day-to-day routines and happily interacts with our caretaking staff and volunteers! He’s been a favorite to take out on Power Hour outings, and our volunteers had these great things to say about him: “King!! He’s 90 lbs of love! King is easy to walk with a loose leash and had no reactions to other dogs. King is very affectionate… in a home environment, I’m pretty sure he’d think he’s a lap dog!” King has successfully lived with both children and another dog, though he has been dog selective here in the shelter, so we *strongly* recommend bringing any resident dogs along with you to meet King to ensure compatibility! It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
