My story

Meet Moppet! Sweet Moppet came to us from a difficult situation. She was on a property with many other dogs, all neglected and underfed. Moppet is around 8 months old and 15 lbs. Moppet is in a foster home now and doing well. She is a very sweet girl. She is shy with people initially and does not know much about the world. She is eager to learn though and will benefit from a patient person who can teach her at her speed. She would be really helped by having another dog in the home who can show her the ropes. We have not seen her with cats. We recommend Moppet for a home with older kids only. She can still startle at times and the fast and unpredictable movements of children will likely stress her out a bit. She needs a moment to warm up to strangers and our trainer is working on that with her.  From her foster family:  Moppet is the best and is doing really well. She continues to go potty outside and has become comfortable enough outside on leash that she is going potty on walks now! She's getting better on leash but is still a bit all over the place. We're working on it but electing to mostly just let her be herself for now. She wants to please and is easily redirected. If she's chewing on something she shouldn't be, just give her a toy and she's happy to cheer on that instead. She loves toys and likes many different kinds. She is so sweet and a dream of a puppy. She has even convinced Bug, our chill resident dog, who was very annoyed to share her space initially, that she likes Moppet.  She has won her over. Bug went from never playing with other dogs to playing emphatically with sweet Moppet yesterday.  We all love Moppet and it's clear she would make a great addition to a loving home.  Moppet is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
