My story

How this pet arrived: Jax was brought in by his previous owner on June 24, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Do you consider yourself fluent in Feline? Can you spot a head whip or tail flick faster than you can say, "Don't pet the belly!"? Then allow us to introduce you to Jax - 16 pounds of fur, fire, and very clear boundaries. Jax is not for the faint of heart. He's more "anti-hero" than lap cat - think grumpy retired pirate who just wants his snacks, his privacy, and a soft towel to nap on. Birdwatching? Absolutely. Temptations treats? Yes, but only if you toss them with reverence. Cozy blanket piles? Now you're speaking his language. This distinguished gentleman has a history of, let's say, assertive communication when overstimulated. He's not subtle - ears back, head whip, bite. Not personal, just policy. His ideal adopter is someone who respects body language more than sweet talk and understands that "I need space" sometimes means "I will enforce this boundary." When it's time to bring Jax home, know this: he does not do well with chaotic entrances. Transferring him from a carrier is a delicate art, best executed with planning, patience, and ideally a top-loading hard plastic carrier (required, by the way - no duffel bag-style bravery here). A quiet, private room set up for decompression is key. Let Jax come to you when and if he chooses. (Spoiler: he may not. And that's okay.) Jax may never be a lap cat - but he will be a loyal roommate who takes care of his own business, supervises your bird feeder, naps in sunbeams, and occasionally blesses you with his presence (from a safe distance). If you're ready for the challenge, the legend, the towel-loving tempest that is Jax - we salute you.Shy/Fearful Cat:Jax requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 16.98 Age: 5yrs 2mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jax, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
