Meet Lola In a foster home! Fill out the adoption application if interested in meeting her Apply to adopt https://mynewcat.org/adopt-a-cat/adoption-application/ Meet Lola! Lola is a sweet, quirky, shy cat who is most loyal to whomever opens the wet food cans. She is unique with her single eye and adorable overbite. She really loves playing with toys, being brushed, and enjoys being petted and rubbing herself against your legs. She came to the rescue from a local shelter where she and ~20 other cats were scheduled for euthanasia after being confiscated from an eviction case, very sickly and undersocialized. Now she is healthy, happy, and enjoying the good life in a home with enough food and toys and beds to go around. She is a little wary of strangers but warms up quickly if given some patience. She is not interested in being picked up and isn't a lap cat. She is very affectionate with me but is also not a velcro cat. If you are looking for a cat who enjoys attention but doesn't mind doing her own thing, she's your gal! Lola is ~5-6 years old, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is negative for FeLV and FIV. She lives with other cats but seems like she could take it or leave it. She isn't super bonded to her companion Pineapple so they don't need to go together. Sometimes Lola instigates spats with Pineapple but nothing major. She could live in a home with other cats, but probably wouldn't mind being the only cat. Lola and Pineapple came from the same hoarding situation. One of my favorite things about Lola is when she gets very playful and has a crazy little energy spurt when she grabs a toy with all four paws and starts kicking at it repeatedly. She enjoys wand toys although with only one eye her depth perception isn't great and she sometimes misses her attempts pretty spectacularly. Lola used to get chronic ear infections, but has not had any problems since switching to her current diet (Blue Wilderness Duck Recipe wet food) a few months ago. She doesn't have a ton of teeth and will not eat kibble. Interested adopters should be able to afford her food (~$75 per month) and also be willing to check her ears every few weeks to make sure they remain free of infection. Before switching to this diet Lola regularly had hairballs but she doesn't with this food! Her fur is soft and lush and she really enjoys being brushed. Lola is one of my favorite cats I've ever fostered. She was very undersocialized when I first got her and I'm very proud that she's turned into a pretty normal cat. I think she'd prefer a quieter home without barking dogs or small screamy children. Her adoption fee is $80. She's in a foster home in Indianapolis. Fill out an adoption application on the My New Cat Rescue website if you'd like to meet her.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lola, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
