My story

Adoption Day: July 19th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun!   Meet Sage (aka Helpless)!   Say hello to Sage, a 3-month-old Lab/Shepherd mix with a heart full of sweetness and a big future ahead of her!Sage is thriving in her foster home and showing all the signs of being a smart and loving companion. She’s highly motivated by treats, making training fun and easy. She’s already working on sit, leave it, come, and go potty. While she's still a puppy and has the occasional accident, she’s been fantastic about going #2 outside and is learning quickly. This little girl loves her rope toy, especially for teething, and is very respectful with her crate—she often goes in on her own when the door is open and is currently sleeping through the night in her crate if her water is taken up before bedtime. Sage is learning to sit nicely for her leash and harness, and she does well with a calm approach. With her foster mom, she’s good about getting geared up, but she can get a little wiggly and playful if it turns into a game with others. She’s still a puppy and is picking it up quickly with consistent cues. On walks, she shows lovely leash manners: she’s curious about other dogs but sits and watches them quietly without lunging or barking. While she hasn’t yet been fully introduced to other dogs due to her quarantine period, her calm curiosity suggests she’ll be a polite playmate once she can socialize. At home, Sage is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She adores an evening snuggle session and will come sit next to you when she’s craving affection and pets. She’s a gentle, loving puppy who’s already showing her wonderful temperament.
