My story

Squeeks was found as a stray and after his stray hold was up he became a PAR dog.  Notes from his foster: It took him a few days to warm up to us. He is a quiet dog for most of the time! He'll hang out on the couch or in his open kennel. Until there is a delivery driver or the other dogs start to bark. Squeeks has a higher pitch bark.He is low key and quiet, but can get really excited if it's time to go for a walk, a car ride, or when you come home. He will bark, jump, and mouth (not an actual bite). He gets along with small dogs, dogs that were his size, and dogs that were bigger than him (65lbs). But seems to prefer males. One of the dogs is a 28 lbs paralyzed dog in a wheelchair and Squeeks doesn't mind the wheelchair at all. We don't have cats, so I don't know how he would be.He loves the fenced in yard to run around it. He runs around, plays with the other dogs, sniffs everything, and occasionally digs. For car rides, he'll jump right in! For walks, a martingale color is highly recommended. He will sometimes try to back out of his collar if you don't go in the direction he was hoping to go. I would not trust him off leash unless he was trained.I would not trust him near an open door either - he will absolutely try to sneak out. He is quick and quiet! He is house-trained. He only had one accident when he first arrived, which is to be expected. He loves to sleep in the bed with the humans at night. But he will go to his kennel if you point and say kennel. He loves soft blankets, squeaky toys, and antlers. He shared his toys with the other dogs. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. We do feed him separately in a crate, as we do with all of our dogs. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2222310##
