My story

Meet Arlo One of our “forgotten floofs” from PA, Arlo is now safe and decompressing in an upstate NY foster home. Just 11 months old, this sweet, gentle boy has endured a rough start—and is slowly learning what love and care truly mean. Arlo spent the beginning of his life outdoors with no real shelter, no consistent meals, and nothing but rainwater to drink. Understandably cautious and unsure, he’s making quiet strides every day—leaning into affection, trusting a bit more, and starting to enjoy the simple comforts of a safe home. Recently neutered, Arlo also tested positive for Lyme and Anaplasmosis—two unfortunately common tick-borne illnesses. Thankfully, they’re both treatable and manageable with proper care, and he's already on the road to recovery. He’s good with other dogs, and while we haven’t tested him with cats yet, his calm and observant demeanor gives us hope he’ll do just fine. As a Great Pyrenees mix, Arlo is on the smaller side due to early malnutrition—but he’s filling out with proper nutrition and TLC. Arlo is ready to leave his past behind. Let’s find this sweet soul the forever home he deserves. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies. Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada. Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application.
