My story
Meet Cookie, an 8-year-old neutered dog with a big heart and a loving spirit. Though he is managing some health challenges, he continues to brighten the days of those around him; Cookie is positive for heartworm and has been diagnosed with bilateral lenticular sclerosis; Despite these hurdles, Cookie remains sweet and eager for affection and care.This pet has a stiff gait in the hindquarters, most likely due to osteoarthritis in the hip joints and possible spinal issues such as spondylosis or IVDD. While still mobile and able to enjoy walks and interaction, they may require ongoing management or accommodations. Due to the shelter’s limited resources and the medical challenges, this pet is at risk for euthanasia.
