Bear is simply irresistible! Bear is estimated to be around 3-4 months old and is a fluffy bundle of energy who is always on the lookout for some fun. He pretty much is a living stuffed animal and is happiest when he can be by your side and join you for lots of adventures. He is looking for an active family who can keep up with his on-the-go personality. Bear currently weighs about 8lbs, and we guess that he will be around 30lbs when fully grown. Bear came to us from our local shelter after he was found all alone at a park. He seemed in pretty good condition, so we were all surprised when a family didn't come forward for him. He is now safe in a YCSPCA foster home and oh so ready to find his fur-ever family. Bear may be small, but he is a busy boy who loves to play and be goofy. In his mind, everyone is his BFF; they just don't know it yet. He loves everyone he meets and loves to be the center of attention. Bear isn't vaccinated enough for walks yet, but has been loving joining his foster mom for field trips to get him used to being out and about. Once he is older, he will love to go on lots of outdoor adventures with his new family. Bear is very much a teething and curious puppy and is happy to get into things when bored. His new family will need to be prepared to keep his busy mind and body occupied with lots of physical and mental enrichment. He is still learning all of his basic manners, and his new family should be prepared to dedicate the time to help him learn. He would be a great candidate for group puppy classes. Bear loves other dogs and tries his hardest to get all of the dogs in his foster home to play with him. We think he would do best with another active young dog in his new home, so he always has a buddy to romp around with. Bear thinks kitties are fun to play with, so would do best with dog-savvy cats who are comfortable correcting a playful puppy. Bear could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Bear is still working on his housetraining, so his new family will need to be patient with him while he is learning and expect lots of accidents in the beginning. Bear doesn't like to be without his people and needs a family who can be home with him often and help him slowly acclimate to being home alone. He isn't the biggest fan of being crated, but is getting better about sleeping through the night in his crate. Bear is such a sweet and loving little boy, and he can't wait to be your new best friend! If he sounds like the sidekick you need in your life, submit an application today! Bear's adoption fee is $400. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
