My story

- A champion cuddler and couch potato who is also always ready to bring her joyful energy on a walk or run; whether relaxing or active, she's happy as long as she's with you - Loves to sleep in bed with you at night, preferably with some part of her touching you; has an adorable snore and likes to burrow under the covers - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip, and her human companions said she was a total sweetheart: "It was too hot to be outside so we just hung out inside. She had interest in toys and playing and showed off her trick of knowing sit, but was also happy to curl up on the couch and nap for the afternoon. She had no accidents inside and went to the bathroom each time I took her outside. She did great in the car ride and absolutely loved her pup cup!" - Likes fetch and loves squeaky toys - she makes it her mission to free the squeakers! - Spent some time in a foster home, and was perfect with housetraining there; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule- Good in the car and loves going places and meeting new people - Was very quiet in her foster home and was not bothered by outside noises; was also very low-maintenance- Young children are not her cup of tea and tend to make her very uncomfortable, so she's looking for a teens-and-up home right now - Other dogs also tend to make her anxious and uncomfortable, and she might prefer to be the only dog in her new home; could possibly do well with a considerate and friendly dog with a similar energy level (dog intro required) - No cats for her, please - Has had some struggles with medical handling, specifically needles, but has made great progress in our care; would benefit from a veterinarian who uses Fear Free techniques This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 67 Age: 4yrs 3mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Delilah, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
