My story

Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Thanks to a generous supporter, this pet's adoption fee is fully covered — and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer in the first 60 days to help you start off strong together! Meet Tassels Howdy, Partner! The name’s Tassels, and I’m ready to mosey on over to my forever family. I rode into OPH back in January with a wagon full of adorable pups. They’ve all galloped off to their own homes, and now it’s finally my turn to find a place to settle down. Energy & Personality I’m a gentle soul who shines brightest when I feel safe and loved. Sometimes the world can be a little big and scary, so I’d do best with a family who understands that I may need patience as I find my confidence. Once I know I can trust you, I’ll stick by your side like a faithful trail partner. Training & Behavior When you’re home, I’m as content as can be hanging out in my crate - it’s like my little cozy bunkhouse. When you’re away, I’d prefer more freedom, since crates aren’t my favorite if I’m left alone. Social Life I really blossom with the company of another dog. A confident canine friend in my new home will help me feel secure and show me the ropes. I’ve got a soft spot for yard time too—I enjoy fresh air, tagging along with foster mom in the greenhouse, and just being part of the action. Chickens, though? Not my style. We have a truce going - they don't come near me, and I don't chase them. Quirks & Special Traits I’m a little needy, sure - but in the best way. I’ll remind you every day how much you’re loved. My loyalty is as strong as a lasso, and I’ll happily follow you from sunup to sundown. Best Home Fit I’m hoping for a patient, kind family with another dog and a yard where I can stretch my legs. Most of all, I’m searching for people who don’t mind a sidekick who wants to be close by. Veterinary Care Up to date on vaccinations for age Spayed Microchipped On heartworm preventative On flea and tick preventative Worm and parasite treatments completed So, if you’re looking for a loving partner with a tender heart and plenty of spunk, saddle up- we could be the perfect match! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics#q12

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tassels - Fee Sponsored in Full, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
