Charlie is a sweet and playful young pup who’s still learning that the world is a safe place. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has bonded closely with his current foster sibling—a fellow Chihuahua who he’s adopted as his best friend. We believe Charlie would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help him feel secure and loved. He’s got classic puppy energy and loves to play! Charlie uses a doggie door and appears to be potty trained. He’s also been caught trying to chew on things once or twice (puppy behavior!), but it’s only happened occasionally.Charlie is still quite shy around people. He’s slowly warming up and will come over when you`re sitting calmly on the couch, but he doesn’t come when called and gets scared if you try to pick him up. He’ll need a patient, understanding foster or adopter who will let him go at his own pace and help him build confidence. The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more. Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information. ** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. ** HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal’s location.
