My story

Waffles story is all too common in his close call to being homeless in New Mexico....but who could ignore his cuteness, adorable manner and desire to bond with anyone who could potentially be his best friend? Waffles rescuer had the following to say about our sweet pup: "This tiny, friendly boy arrived at the shelter as an unclaimed stray, He was very confused at first, but is so much happier now that he's getting special attention for being so darn sweet. Our wonderful Waffles loves other dogs and has the cutest curly tail that never stops wagging! Waffles has a huge heart and gave me tons of kisses and hugs yesterday. I just love this tiny guy!" At between 2 and 3 years old and 12 lbs, Waffles is a perfect size for neighborhood walks (he's a very social guy) and backyard fun and silliness with his family..and then at day's end, this loving pup would enjoy nothing more than a warm lap or a spot on the couch or bed next to his favorite people. Waffles enjoys his relationships with other dogs as well and would have so much fun with another playful and gentle canine as his best friend. Waffles could be that dream come true pup for somebody who enjoys spending their time with an adorable guy who is so loving and engaging. There's no question that Waffles would also do well with very gentle, dog-loving older kids who enjoy the fun and snuggles that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We want to make certain that sweet Waffles is handled kindly and with respect.. and he'll return that loving treatment a thousand times over with his loyalty and pure love. Waffles enjoys playing and is entertaining in his silly antics and the love / hugs that he wants to share with everyone who is kind to him. Waffles will do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with their pup. He will be a committed and loving best friend..and would be overjoyed with the opportunity to come along and be part of the fun. This little guy is so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a visit with friends, a car ride, a vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch. All of this would speak to Waffles sweet temperament and love for his people. Farfel's isn't open to an adoption for Waffles where family members spend their days working full-time outside of the home. We'd like Waffles to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. Those who are retired or work from a home-based office would be a perfect choice for this friendly and engaging pup. Waffles will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement and 5 star food is recommended for longevity and eye/coat care). With this regimen, Waffles's coat will be cottony-soft and shining with great health. Waffles will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered in support of a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Waffles is available for adoption now.
