All About Me • Name: Matteo • Age: Around 10 years old (born approximately 2015) • Gender: Male • Neutered: Yes • Breed: Pomeranian • Color: White & Black • Weight: 4.5 kg / 10 lbs • Microchip: Yes   My Personality Hi, I’m Matteo. I’m a calm, quiet little gentleman who enjoys a slow pace and a gentle hand. I may take a little time to open up, but once I know I’m safe, my softer side begins to shine through. When we first meet, I prefer a bit of personal space. I’ve lived through some uncertain times, so I like to observe and understand before getting close. But if you’re patient and kind, you’ll see me nuzzle up, wag my tail, and even offer a few sweet licks when I feel ready. I love peaceful routines, soft voices, and cozy corners to curl up in. I’m not one to bark much or bounce around. I’d rather nap nearby and quietly keep you company.   Social Skills • With People: I’m more reserved with new people, especially if they move quickly or reach toward my face. I may need some time to get to know before having some physical touch. I may warn the person who does not see my signal. Visiting a daycare, grooming services and vet would need extra attention in the beginning. I do best with adults who understand gentle communication and my preference. With time and trust, I warm up and show my affectionate side. • With Children: I’m not comfortable around young kids, especially with sudden movements or loud noises, so a child-free home would be ideal for me. • With Other Dogs: I tend to keep to myself, but I’m polite around dogs my size or quieter in nature. I don’t mind sharing space, but I appreciate calm energy. • With Cats: I haven’t met any yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel.   On My Walks‍ I enjoy taking my time on walks, stopping often to sniff and explore at my own pace. I’m not in a rush, just happy to be outside, soaking up the world around me. I don’t pull much, and I prefer quiet paths over busy streets.   Life at Home I’m a low-maintenance little guy who knows how to settle in. I use both indoor pads and outdoor spaces for potty time. I’m not food-obsessed, but I do enjoy my meals and I’m happy to eat alongside other dogs as long as we each have our own space. I don’t bark much, and while I may growl if another pup comes too close to my food, I’m never overbearing. I don’t require constant attention, but I do love being near the people I trust. I may even rub up against you like a cat when I’m feeling particularly affectionate. I’m not a big fan of car rides just yet, so I feel safest when I’m gently carried in. And grooming? It’s not my favorite, especially around the face so a groomer who understands how to go slow with me would be appreciated.   My Ideal Home I’m looking for a home that’s calm and experienced one that doesn’t expect me to be the life of the party, but sees the value in quiet companionship. I’d thrive in a home without young children, with adults who have experience with dogs like me and are patient enough to let me come out of my shell at my own pace.
