SHADOW

My story

Shadow is a true black beauty! She has shown us in a very short time how much love she has to offer. When we first met her she was so scared we had to carry her to the car and into our home, and then she hid in our back yard and refused to let us near her. Now she rules the house and literally prances when she goes on walks. What a transformation!Make no mistake, she is a young dog who has much to learn – like not pulling and weaving on walks, or counter surfing, or chewing up and destroying things that are not dog toys – but her earnest eyes and desire to please make it so worth the effort. Her ideal home would include lots of physical activity, an experienced owner who understands how to redirect her puppy energy, and maybe a playful dog friend who will show her the way. She has been kenneled with a similar sized male dog and she gets along well with our older male heeler. She is treat motivated, which is a huge help with training. She is smart and learns quickly. She figured out our dog door in a couple of days and hasn’t had a single accident in the house since. She has a huge appetite, which tells us she is still growing, and she loves, loves, loves her toys. She fills her dog bed with her favorites.She’s a good watch dog with a booming voice that tells strangers she’s a sturdy girl, but she’s friendly when they come in the house and is learning not to jump on people. She howls like a wolf when she hears a siren in the distance, which is just one of many fun discoveries as her personality comes out of the shadows.This girl deserves a chance to shine and watching her come out of hiding has been such a joy to behold!
