Miss Peppadew

My story

Like her peppery namesake, Peppadew is a perfect blend of sweetness and playful zest. She is affectionate and adventurous, and wants to be part of the action. Her ideal forever family will include her in occasional activities beyond her daily walks - a quick errand to a dog-friendly shop, an afternoon enjoying a treat on a patio, or taking in the sights and sounds on the sidelines of a soccer game? She's in and thrilled to be there! This positive socialization will help her continue to overcome some initial shyness and uncertainty she has when greeting strangers outside her home. Within minutes of meeting, she often forgets anything she ever knew about personal space and wants to be best friends. She loves to spend time with her people and has previously lived with children. She also adores other dogs and would love a canine companion or a forever family who will provide opportunities to interact with other dogs on walks or playdates. Her curiosity and enthusiasm seems to be too much for cats, however, unless someone were truly dedicated to working with her on safe, slow introductions. She must currently be kept completely separate from them in her foster home. Peppadew is crate-trained, house-trained, and so polite she’ll paw at the door when it’s time to head out. She walks well on leash and also enjoys sniffing around a fenced yard when possible. She currently crates calmly for about five hours per day and is used to sleeping overnight in a dog bed near her people, sometimes hopping up to share a pillow. Wherever she next rests her head, Peppadew will bring immense joy and a promise of love and adventure forever.
