My story

Meet Nova — Your Loyal Sidekick in the Making Nova is a sweet, 3-year-old Terrier mix weighing in at just 18 lbs — the perfect petite size for lap snuggles and adventures alike. Originally rescued and adopted as a puppy through Underdog, she's now searching for her second chance at a forever home after her family faced unforeseen life changes. Nova can be shy at first, especially in new places or with new people, and she’ll let you know when strangers are around. But once she settles in, her playful, affectionate personality shines through. She loves being near her people and cuddling with her doggie companions — a true comfort pup with a big heart. Nova is dog-friendly and thrives with other dogs. She’s currently fostered in a home with multiple pups of different sizes and ages, and would love to have a furry sibling to play with. She’s playful and silly — she loves chasing games, chewing on bones, and being part of the fun. She’s dog-door potty trained and enjoys having the independence to go outside on her own. Nova also rides great in the car in her doggy booster seat and enjoys watching the world go by. She’s a good leash walker but may need some gentle guidance in busier environments. Because she’s a bit timid, she would do best in a calm home with adults or older, respectful kids who understand how to give her space and go at her pace. She hasn’t lived with cats, but we believe she could do fine with a slow introduction. Nova is looking for a family who will give her the time, patience, and love she needs to fully adjust and thrive. An adoption plan that includes structure, gentle training, mental enrichment, and ongoing socialization will help her blossom into the best version of herself. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and adorable companion, Nova may be the one you’ve been waiting for.
