My story

*** Tobias (“Toby”) is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***Tobias #19621: cream/gray Siamese mix, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 3/1/23 Cats: good solo, okay w/othersDogs: calm likely okayChildren: gentle past toddlerBACKGROUND: Tobias was evicted from his home by an uncaring guardian and struggled to fend for himself; since he wasn’t neutered, he ended up in fights which led to the damage to his ear. He finally found a group of cats who had someone feeding them—that person recognized how sweet and friendly he is and reached out for rescue help. After he was taken in, it was discovered that Toby’s left rear leg had been broken so badly that it was only scar tissue holding things together and not bone. It was amputated, he healed up, and is now looking for a special person who will shower him with love and affection!PERSONALITY: Toby is such a handsome and sweet cat! He loves that he is safe and loved, and he shows his gratitude every day. This awesome kitty is full of affection for his human. He will walk circles around you and is always bumping up and rubbing against your leg; you’ll always be warmly welcomed home and he is also happy to get attention from anyone willing to take the time to love on him. (Taking photos can sometimes be difficult since he thinks those hands should be petting him.) Tobias is a big snuggler and delighted to hang out with you and sleep on the bed yet is also respectful of your space and isn’t so clingy that he’s a pest. He’s a calm and easygoing boy who likes to chill and relax.COMPATIBILITY: Tobias gets along with the other cats in his foster home though would be very happy and content as an only cat. He should be okay with mellow dogs with an introduction and respectful children who are past the toddler age and old enough to be gentle with him. He gets around very well but would appreciate some stepping-stone levels for going up high.Toby experienced a lot of heartache before his rescue, but he never lost his sweet spirit or his desire to bond with humans. Will you give him a loving home for a lifetime? While healthy, Tobias has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happi

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tobias, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
