My story

Oliver Twist (Twist for short) LOVES to play! He does great with submissive or neutral dogs after slow introductions! He would benefit from a fenced yard and active family as he loves to run around and play outside. He loves a good game of tug and lives by the motto “ball is life”! He is is a sweet boy who loves people and loves being near his person. Due to his past, he seems to have some separation and confinement anxiety, especially in a crate. He will do best as a single dog or possibly very, very slow introductions with a very submissive or neutral female dog. He does seem to have a prey drive towards smaller animals so he needs a home with no cats or small animals. He loves to play tug and chase after a ball. He’s a very playful guy! He would probably be best in a home environment rather than an apartment due to him being a hound mix that likes to occasionally use his big voice.  If you are interested in adopting Oliver Twist please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age.   ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***    July 22, 2025, 5:59 pm
