My story

Meet Hunter! Hunter came to us from the San Diego Humane Society – Escondido Campus on July 1st. When our volunteer arrived to give him his freedom ride, Hunter hopped into the car like a seasoned traveler and rode peacefully all the way to his new beginning. Currently enjoying a Frosted Fling, Hunter has already won over his foster family — so much so that they extended his stay! His foster mom says: “Hunter has brought us so much joy these past 3 weeks! He makes us laugh with his silly antics and has been a total sweetheart with everyone he meets — kids, adults, dogs — you name it!” Here’s what we’ve learned about this charming gentleman so far: 💤 Sleeping Star – Hunter’s daily mission is finding the perfect sploot. He plans, calculates, and commits. His hilarious sleeping positions alone could be a sitcom. 💋 Lover of Forehead Kisses – He lives for gentle kisses on the forehead and will nuzzle closer for more. It's his love language! 🏃‍♂️ Dream Sprinter – Believe it or not, Hunter runs in his sleep. Not twitching – full-on galloping like he's chasing his dreams. It’s adorable and a little surreal. 🚶‍♂️ Walks... Kind Of – He gets so excited for walks, but by the time he reaches the neighbor’s house, he’s ready for a nap. One lap around the block = snooze mode for the day. 🧠 Smart Cookie – He’s food-motivated and picks up cues quickly. In just two walks, he learned to wait at the door — even if it takes all his willpower to hold back! Hunter is looking for a mellow, loving home where he can be adored, kissed on the forehead, and celebrated for all his quirky charm. He would be a delightful addition to any family who appreciates a low-key, affectionate companion with a goofy streak.
