I’m such a good boy. I am super sweet, low-maintenance, silly, and shy, until I get to know you. Once we bond, there is no place I’d rather be than right by your side. I am a true survivor! And, at 10 years old, I’m just now experiencing so much that life has to offer. The simple act of carrying my stuffy toy from room to room or curling up on the couch for snuggles or feeling the soft grass against my paws…all of these are new to me, after spending my life as a puppy mill dog. Sometimes it feels overwhelming, but mostly it just feels nice to finally be free. I hope that maybe you’d like to join me in the rest of my life’s journey. I’m a darling, 6-pound toy poodle, with the cutest little face, gentle, soulful eyes, soft fur that will need regular grooming, and an unassuming, lovely personality. I’m already crate trained and I’ve been working on housebreaking too, although I’m not quite there yet. I’m learning to use pee pads for when I can’t get out in time. Meanwhile, please stay patient and understanding with me when I have accidents, and remember that I’m trying my best to fit into this new life. I came to Wayside after I was rescued from a life of neglect and loneliness in that awful puppy mill. It was such a scary and confusing time, because that sad life was all I knew. Once at Wayside, I was able to get the vet care that I had never had. I had severe dental disease, and I ended up needing surgery and losing my teeth. I feel so much better though! Not having teeth hasn’t slowed me down a bit, and I like soft food just fine. P
