Meet Jumba—our curious little explorer and the unofficial “Chief of Puppy Research” in the Lilo & Stitch litter. This boy is all about discovering the world around him. Every corner, every squeaky toy, every speck of lint is a brand-new adventure just waiting to be investigated. He’s super playful, full of life, and absolutely convinced that your home is one giant puppy playground designed just for him. While his siblings might be napping or snuggling, Jumba is usually off on a mission—whether it’s peeking behind the couch, trying to understand how a tennis ball works, or simply following his nose to whatever smells slightly off-limits. He’s got a heart full of curiosity, a tail that never stops wagging, and a serious case of “let me help you with that—oh wait, I got distracted.” Jumba is the kind of pup who makes every moment feel like an adventure and every room a little brighter (and maybe a little messier). If you’re looking for a playful, silly, endlessly entertaining best friend—this little guy’s ready to make your world a whole lot more fun. Jumba might be just 6 weeks old and 5 pounds, but this little guy has big plans. He came into the world after his amazing mom, Noni, gave birth in the shelter—and ever since, he’s been making up for lost time by exploring everything his little paws can reach. We’re not exactly sure what mix Jumba is, but here’s what we do know: Mom looks like she might be part Aussie or Irish Setter (aka stunning and smart), and Jumba’s soft curls suggest Dad may have been a poodle mix—one who apparently preferred mystery over responsibility, because he didn’t leave a name or forwarding info. Jumba is, without a doubt, the biggest and most confident pup in the Lilo & Stitch litter—which is a nice way of saying he’s totally convinced he’s in charge. He’s not pushy, exactly… just very sure that the toys, the bed, and your undivided attention were all meant for him. It’s honestly kind of adorable how seriously he takes his self-appointed role as “puppy in charge.” He hasn’t met any cats yet, but we imagine it’ll be entertaining. Jumba would probably march right up with full enthusiasm, assuming the cat is just another new friend waiting to admire him—or at least join his fan club. He’s been around a teenager and done beautifully. He’s sweet, attentive, and clearly enjoys having someone around who’s willing to give belly rubs and listen to his important puppy thoughts. When meeting new people, Jumba is friendly and charming—he greets everyone with a wag and that confident little sparkle in his eye, like he knows he’s about to win you over. (Spoiler: he absolutely will.) Jumba runs at a lively 7–8 on the energy scale—think somewhere between a curious little mountain goat and a fluffy toddler who just discovered espresso. He’s always on the move, always investigating, and absolutely convinced the world is his personal playground. He’s got a big personality and isn’t afraid to use it. Jumba wants to be involved in everything—from playtime to snack time to “hey, what’s that you’re doing over there and can I help (by taking it)?” He’s a little bossy with his siblings, but in the most charming, big-brother kind of way. His favorite activities? Playing with toys, climbing on anything that vaguely resembles furniture, and exploring every nook and cranny like it’s his job. He’s confident, curious, and endlessly entertaining—and when he finally slows down, he’s all cuddles and puppy sighs. If you’re looking for a pup with a big heart, big energy, and even bigger dreams (mostly about food), Jumba’s your guy. So, you’re thinking about adopting Jumba? Wonderful! Just make sure you’re fully prepared to dive headfirst into the puppy trifecta of life lessons: Potty training – Jumba’s current strategy is “pee where inspiration strikes.” If you're into spontaneous puddles and learning to read the subtle signs of “uh-oh,” he’s ready to teach you. Spoiler: it involves a lot of paper towels and personal growth. Leash training – Leashes are currently a weird concept Jumba hasn’t agreed to yet. Expect some flailing, dramatic refusals, and an award-worthy performance of “Why must you tie me to this string, peasant?” Socialization – While Jumba is confident and curious, he still needs help learning that the vacuum isn’t a monster and not every new person is a chew toy. He’ll need gentle guidance, positive experiences, and someone willing to introduce him to the world without also letting him run it (though he’ll try). So no, he’s not plug-and-play—but if you’re ready to raise a bossy, hilarious, lovable goofball into a well-rounded adult dog, Jumba is ready to bring the fun (and the work). Don’t say we didn’t warn you. So, if you're sitting there thinking, “Yes, I would absolutely love to be bossed around by a curly-haired chaos nugget with zero boundaries and a heart of gold,” then congratulations—Jumba is your guy. But before you start planning matching outfits, here’s the fine print: 📝 You’ll need to fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app —because apparently “falling in love at first sight” isn’t legally binding. 📍 You’ll also need to pick him up in Hutchinson, KS—he’s not shipping himself in a box marked “fragile (but fabulous).” 📆 And no, you can’t take him home just yet—he can’t leave until around July 21st. He’s still got a few more weeks of bossing his siblings around and perfecting his toy-hoarding technique.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jumba, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
