SAAP Nation, please give a warm welcome to FRANK!!! I wasn’t sure when, or even if, I’d introduce you to Frank. I’ve been fostering Frank for about a week and a half now, and he’s had a very hard first week in foster care. He was found as a stray and spent several weeks in a rural shelter before I saw his picture and decided I had to rescue him with SAAP. I mean he has a HEART on his face for goodness sake!!! The good thing for you guys is that I’ve done all the hard work! He was so anxious, scared, and unsettled his first week with me. He will need a patient adopter!! Someone that truly understands how much he’s been through and will give him the time he needs to decompress. With a little time at my house and anxiety meds, he’s turned a new, beautiful, boundless leaf!! Here’s what we know about him!!- He’s an approximately 8 year old, 25lb, beagle/something mix! He’s now on anxiety meds and will probably need to continue to be for at least a few months to truly destress and understand he’s home, safe, and loved. Its made a wonderful world of difference in his personality and ability to relax. Luckily, these meds are cheap!! He’s working hard on potty training! He came to my home being 0% potty trained and in only 1.5 weeks, I’d say he’s 95% trained when taken out routinely!! He’s fine in a crate (actually sleeps in one), but he does howl and whine when first put in, so maybe not the best fit for apartment living. He’s fine with other dogs, but definitely doesn’t need any. He’d adore all of your time and attention, but if he can’t have it, he coexists just fine with other dogs. He’s currentky living with 5 others at my home . He’s great with older kids and the shelter said he was fine with cats! He doesn’t chew on furniture, shoes, or hands! He’s really just an awesome senior, that’s been misunderstood and unloved for far too long!! He fiercely loves his humans and I’d probably classify him as a stage 5 clinger, aka velcro dog! He craves and deeply needs to feel loved! Can you give Frank the second, or maybe even first chance, he’s ever been given to be a wonderful, beloved pet? A true ride or die until the end?!?! Please apply for Frank and being this special guy home this week! July 15, 2025, 4:26 pm
